I would really appreciate a membership to Savoir Faire. I just returned to Toronto after living and working in London, England for the past 6 years. I’m 31 and have spent my entire career abroad and am now back and working in my home country. I feel I could really benefit other members through sharing my experiences of building a successful career abroad and could personally benefit from the opportunity to network with fellow Toronto professionals.

I would love to have a membership as I feel I could contribute and help mentor, share and teach other members that in which I have learned! It’s about time for a site like this to help women at that crucial stage in their lives when so many things seem to be tugging at them. I love being a part of this!

How would a membership help me to achieve success…

I’m a Gen Y gal who has recently discovered the value of networking – especially with other women. I’ve also realized that I’ve been feeling unchallenged and uninspired in the workplace, which was a tough pill to swallow.

So I made a promise to myself. I said, “Self, you need to get out there and do more.”
I’ve gone to a handful of seminars and networking events in the last few months. I just attended SVP’s The ART of Mix & MINGLE 2, which was fantastic. I met some fabulous women from a variety of different fields and industries – it was so refreshing.

The programs offered through SFP seem to genuinely be about helping members get motivated, informed and inspired – which is exactly what crave so very badly lately. I especially like the idea of having a mentor to relate to. That would be amazing. Someone who can say, “Hey, I know how you’re feeling – this is what I’ve done in similar situations.”

I loved this line from the little blurb posted above “young women can learn the things they were never taught – life lessons that only life, and those who have lived through it, can teach.”

    Jackpot. That’s success. That’s what I want.

I think a membership with SFP would be a catalyst for change. Pushing me in directions I might not otherwise push myself.

  4. Ivana says:

I’ve been out of the networking spotlight for about a year now and I’m ready to get back in. I’ve finally achieved an acceptable work/life balance and am ready to challenge myself in the workplace and out.

I currently work at what I like to call, “the land of love”. It’s the first place I’ve worked where the ratio of females to males is about 10:1. I’ve been receiving newsletters from SFP Inc. since the very beginning and these have helped me become professional and fabulous in my mainly female and very competitive workplace.

The challenge I’m looking for is to see how I can separate myself from the hundreds of ladies I work with. Learn from other females who’ve been through similar situations and come out shining. This will be much easier to achieve by attending the seminars and events provided by SFP Inc. and not solely relying on the newsletter to get me through.

I’d love to be the recipient of the free membership, I’d put it to good use and bring something to the table for other members. Thanks.

  5. Renee says:

First off, I look forward to the daily newsletters and articles from your wonderful group of writers. The branding is amazing and I can really relate to almost everything being discussed.
But, why I deserve a membership is three-fold:
    1. I really want to give back to those young women professionals who are just starting out on their career path
    2. I am already active in the professional networking community and I know that this membership would be the cherry on the top
    3. I would like to be mentored by some other professionals already taking full advantage of savoirfaire professionals.

I would love to receive a free membership so that the money I save can be re-directed towards my charity, JustGiveSix (www.justgivesix.com) being launched in a few months.

    Thank you

  6. Within the last year I made a career switch from working as an artist and dealing with creative situations to working on the production side of things, where I am applying my artistic and technical knowledge by working directly with producers and clients. Although I am still in the same field of work it is a completely different dynamic and I’m finding it extremely difficult to network and break out of my shell to meet and build relationships with clients.

The production side of my business is made up of mostly women which is a big change from the artistic side. I am struggling with networking and establishing myself as a producer because I need to learn how to work with these women and not have them feel threatened by my presence.

I would benefit from a membership with Savoir Fair Professionals because I am a prime candidate for the seminars, lectures, mentor series etc. I am your target audience. I am the person that wants and needs to learn from others experiences. I hope you will consider me for the free membership.

    Thank you!

I’m a young professional who recently took some time off to continue my education in Montreal. At 28, I have worked full time for 4 years in the marketing sphere, have two degrees, and have freelanced for 2 years. Yet, I have been stalled in my career since returning from school with a new degree under my arm.

After two years of extended studying, moving expenses, time off job-searching and only part time freelancing for over 18 months, I would greatly benefit from a free membership until I’m feeling a bit more financially stable.

I am a life-longer learner who would jump at the chance to attend events, seminars, and meet other professional women. I’d add my own voice to the mix and share my own knowledge with other women. My experiences have taken me from grass roots organizing to large boardrooms back to the classroom where I taught undergraduates about the power of online organizing and online messages.

I work in an environment full of men and I would welcome the chance to meet, network, and socialize with other women.

In addition, I’m a self-starter and have great enthusiasm and energy. Once I get involved, it’s hard to stop me. I think I can learn from SFP as much as I can give back.

Thanks for this great opportunity to tell my story.
