The White Queen tells the story of a woman of extraordinary beauty and ambition who, catching the eye of the newly crowned boy king, marries him in secret and ascends to royalty. While Elizabeth rises to the demands of her exalted position and fights for the success of her family, her two sons become central figures in a mystery that has confounded historians for centuries: the missing princes in the Tower of London whose fate is still unknown. From her uniquely qualified perspective, Philippa Gregory explores this most famous unsolved mystery of English history, informed by impeccable research and framed by her inimitable storytelling skills. I never felt I was ambitious until I lost my job a few months ago. After sitting around a few weeks, then a few months I began to have this burning desire to work…not just work but excel and accomplish something, anything!
To me being ambitious is setting meaningful goals that improve your path and positively impact those around you, and maintaining the determination to achieve them.
I never realized how important being financially independent was to me until I stayed home to raise my son. The need to be myself, not only a mother, but also a provider, a woman, an independent human being who socializes with adults and the workforce has driven my ambition to create anew.
I am currently in the midst of starting my own business from home to provide for myself and my son. With a little luck, a lot of work and determination, I should be able to succeed.
I’m not ambitious in the tradition sense – I don’t want money or power. To me, ambition is more personal. My ambition centers around living a happy and fulfilling life. I am constantly trying to improve myself by taking classes, meeting new people or simply learning about something new. I want to make a difference (no matter how small) in the world.
So ambition is important to me and I live my life a certain way because of it, it’s just the way my ambition manifests that’s a little different.
Ambition for me is the want for something better in life. It is the driving force within to achieve your greatest desires –what ever they may be.
Some people associate ambition with the attainment of power or superiority. Ambition for me, about being happy and wanting peace.
Ambition has many different definitions for various people. For some it may be to dream for something, aim to attain power, reach a goal or, as a motivation in determining a better outcome in their life.
Ambition for me is to aim and hopefully achieve a comfortable, healthy and happy life. For no matter how much some try and keep up with the “Jones” of this world, if you’re not healthy and happy, you won’t enjoy a minute of what it is you’ve aimed, dreamt, or attained to achieve in life.
Ambition is essential if you want to seen as someone who is notable, accomplished and talented. Ambition drives people to go the extra mile, take one extra meeting, play one more game of catch with your child. Ambition is the difference between having a vision and taking steps every day to achieve that vision.
